2020 CORAL Reunion

In these trying times, we now have certainty as to the way ahead for our Reunion with the RACV agreeing to reschedule our booking for the Reunion dinner to  THU 13 May 2021.

Where people are agreeable, I will hold over your registration for next year and your money in the Coral Reunion Account.

If any of you have other arrangements for that period next year and will not be attending, I will refund your money and cancel your registration. To receive a refund,  please email or write to me and provide your bank details (Account Name, BSB & Account Number) so I can transfer the money to your account, or write you a cheque.


If you have booked accommodation, I strongly suggest that you contact them to seek a refund or transfer your booking to next year.

I can confirm that the RACV Club has transferred our reunion to be now held on Thursday 13th May 2021.

I have also been in touch with Coopers Inn to reschedule the M&G to 12/5/2021. Have not locked this in at this stage. They are in disarray at the moment and expect the pub to be closed down by tomorrow. Will follow up with this when things settle down, whenever this may be???

Hello Fellow Veterans,

As you all know many events around the country are now cancelled due to COVID 19.

Currently the reunion committee are negotiating a rescheduling of the Reunion to the same dates, location and venues in 2021.

 If we are successful, there will be no financial penalty. If we cancel completely we could have to pay $22,000 .

You will be advised of the outcome as soon as possible.

If the airlines cancel your flight then you will probably get a full refund or credit. (If you cancel then you will have to pay a fee)

Likewise for accommodation that has been prepaid you may be able to get a credit for 2021.

MEET AND GREET

This will take place in the heart of the City on the evening of Tuesday 12 May 2020 at Coopers Inn from 5.00pm.

The address is:  282 Exhibition St, Cnr of Little Lonsdale Street,  Melbourne CBD.

Full Bar Service and Counter Meals are available.  The hotel has also agreed to provide drinks at a reduced price. 

MEMORIAL SERVICE & DINNER

This will take place on the evening of Wednesday 13 May 2020 at the RACV City Club.
Start time will most likely be 6 pm. This is yet to be confirmed, as there maybe another function in the room that afternoon.

The address is:   501 Bourke Street, Melbourne CBD.

The function room is on the 17th floor so we can all enjoy a wonderful view of the city skyline. The meal will include an alternative serve main course plus dessert. Also included is a 3 hour drinks package.

COST
The cost for the Reunion Dinner this year is a little more expensive than previous years due to the fact that it is in the Melbourne CBD. The cost is $100 a Single and $195 a Couple. This includes one raffle ticket per person. The RACV City Club is the best value for money of all the venues check out by the Organising Committee. The cost includes not only includes a two course meal and drinks package, but also venue hire and use of A/V equipment. At other venues these were an additional cost.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Both of the reunion venues are within the city limits and are easily accessible on public transport. Trams within the city limits are free so no need to purchase tickets if using this mode of transport.

ACCOMMODATION

The RACV City Club is a 5 star venue that also includes accommodation. The club has agreed to set aside accommodation rooms for those people attending the reunion who would like to stay at the club. They have agreed to apply the member rate for people booking these rooms. The rate is $270 per night and included in the price is a buffet breakfast.

People wishing to take advantage of the accommodation offer should contact the

The organising committee has sought cheaper accommodation quotes from other accommodation places within close proximity to the two venues. For those people who may be travelling with a caravan see below.
